The pump activates automatically every 3 minutes to detect if water is present. If water is present it will continue to pump until the water is removed. It will remove water with 3/4 of the surface. The motor is thermally protect for years of service and the housing uses reinforced thermoplastic construction that is corrosion and rust resistant.
